Self-centered?

I had Snapshirts (kudos to Marlo) build me a tag cloud based on the most commonly used words on my site. I guess it's a bad sign that plasticmind is larger than god.
How do keep blogging, a primarily an individualistic endeavor, from becoming a shrine to ourselves?
Also, anyone care to share thoughts about Blue Like Jazz? I finished it today in one sitting and wanted to hear others take on it before I write up my own thoughts.

As shallow as it may sound, I had decided not to read that book because it was endorsed by Brian McLaren, who is an undisputed leader of the emerging church movement. I'm not stuck on "the friend of my enemy is my enemy," but when trying to narrow the reading options, it can help eliminate some fluff.

I loved that book. Of course, I could not agree with some of Miller's premises and the conclusions he makes from time to time, but overall, the book really challenged me. I just wish more believers were real people. I don't even care if they agree with me on everything as long as they are more into grace than rules...because that is what I am about. I particularly liked his confessional booth idea, since it cuts to the heart of why we suffer for our own sake in this world rather than, as we often claim, for righteousness' sake. If we could confess to our heathen friends (which we should have!) that we have unconsciously taken on the "convicting" role of the Holy Spirit rather than letting God love them through us, (but put in other words of course!) I believe that we could have an impact. Nobody wants to be beaten up. Everybody loves reconciliation...
Anyway. I liked the book.

Is it just my imagination, or are there a lot of services being launched these days called "BLOGCAST"?

I didn't know that the sizes of the words had any correlation to how much they're used. hmmm...
And I really need to read that book. Where is that Barnes & Nobles gift card anyway...
