Forward Motion
TODAY: The Big Move - Chatham to Philly
TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY: The BIGGER Move - Bachelor to Husband
There's so many thoughts going through my head right now, but at the very core of them all is this absolute excitement that I am getting myself into something wonderful.
Weather for the move? Hot and beautiful. Hard to believe we fit it all on one truck and one trailer! Crammed those drawers tight!
I've been thinking alot about those who aren't going to be able to make it to the wedding, and I want to say, it's ok. I've been at many stages in life, abased and the abounding, and I know what it's like not to be able to do something you really want to do. The day is going to be a celebration of something very good, but you don't need to be here to celebrate. Celebrations can take many forms--emails, phone calls, thoughts and prayers. I think I might even consider a tree planted in our honor a celebration.
The point is this--true friendship is a lifetime of love, not just one moment shared. So for everyone who won't be able to attend, all I ask is that you celebrate for us, and share with us in some way that celebration. And no, I'm not taking 'celebration' calls on the honeymoon, so don't even think about it!
Once the wedding video is finished, I'm going to try to make a highlight reel available online for everyone to enjoy; that way if you can't be there, at least you can experience it somewhat vicariously. You'll just have to endure a month or so delay...
Think about it people. Two weeks from today, we'll be Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Gardner. I like the ring of that...

Wow, now that's a story that deserves a blog entry. I guess if the people want it, it will come out eventually...

ok so what's the exact day? you say more recently that "we" have moved into the new apartment, etc., but it's 6/29 as i type this, and i didn't think there was quite a "we" yet for all housing purposes -- am i just confused/missing something?

LOL
I can't tell you the number of times we've had to clarify this since we "moved" down to Philly. We're not getting married until July 8, 2005; but we needed to move our stuff down to Philly so we could go straight there after the honeymoon (instead of moving ex post facto).
So we stayed down there this weekend to get things unpacked and to hunt for jobs. Let me clarify again... I stayed at the apartment, she stayed with old roommates from college. We've waited too long to indulge in stolen fruits with the wedding so close at hand.
Make sense?
