AWANA: Take 1

Our first night in AWANA at Oxford Valley Chapel was a blast. Jess and I were asked to lead singing before council time, and the minute before I got up with the guitar, I realized that I'd left my music home... Of course, Lord I Life Your Name On High is the old standby when you can't find your music, but they knew that one well enough that we could only do it twice. Thank you Jon Fisher for teaching me the peppy version of I've Got The Joy; I had the kids (about 40 of them) turn around and face the adults who looked more sour than the skittles I ate afterwards. It really was a blast, and I must say, ministering with a wife is the greatest joy of all.

More to come...

PS (Sorry about these notification issues... the move to Movable Type 3.2 has thrown a few things to haywire and I'm still trying to iron them out...)
