Pictures From A Warmer Time

I was shuffling through my virtual photo box and came across photos of a warmer time, when my car started easily and my fingers did not freeze to the windshield wipers. When the ground was moist and dark and unbearded by hoarfrost and the wind was merely cool, the girl and I adventured in the woods behind her college as long as our thinned blood could take what was then nippy air. I thought I'd give at least some warmth to the bone-chilled visitor rubbing the stiffness from his frozen mouse hand:
