The Value of Earthly Wonders

We save for a lifetime to go visit the wonders of the earth that man has created, but the Bible makes it clear that they will eventually fall away to nothing. Does that mean God is cruel? Keep in mind, any glory that man can convey with earthly hands is just a brief reflection of the true beauty that is God. No material beauty can transcend its originator--Hamlet cannot be greater than Shakespeare, Starry Night cannot be more valuable than Picasso, this entry cannot be greater than myself. So it is absurd to shake a finger at God for tearing down the works of man, when those very works are but a glimpse of God himself. When true beauty is revealed, this incomplete, scarred transmission will and should give way to its original source.
